Week Retreat at Bala Brook


We ran our first Yoga Retreat at Bala Brook in July 2011 and it was such a perfect place to be and practise Yoga, that we have continued to book it yearly.

The cost for the week is £ all inclusive of room, meals and tuition.

The rooms are simple, some en suite, and mostly singles and doubles. Meals will be vegetarian and we can cater for dietary needs like ‘non dairy’ and ‘gluten free’ if informed in advance. The Yoga Studio is beautiful! It opens out onto the Bala Brook. The venue is situated right on the edge of Dartmoor and there are some inspiring walks right on the doorstep. The course is suitable for all levels except absolute beginners. We teach in partnership, so lots of opportunities to develop your practice with hands on corrections and verbal advice.

The week will include a great mix of daily practice and time for your own relaxing or vigorous pursuits! The regular programme will include  an early morning Pranayama lesson, breakfast, an active morning asana class, lunch, afternoon free time [organised walks for those who want them] an afternoon class of inversion, sitting and restorative poses followed by the evening meal. The evenings can be spent socialising with the other participants, relaxing in the library or even going on walks……. Last year Jo Pelly the resident Yogi and  Bala Brook administrator led some wonderful evening walks across the local moors, very atmospheric!
